REUTERS/Luisa GonzalezOne day after the final organization of the card for the first presidential round in Colombia was published, the Citizen Oversight Network asked the National Civil Status Registry to exclude John Milton Rodríguez González, candidate for Colombia Justa Libres, from the format. The organization claims that the politician is registered despite the fact that the National Electoral Council (CNE) declared the meeting at which the man was elected as the representative of the said party illegal. In addition to removing it from the card, the Oversight Network asked to sanction Rodríguez and his presidential formula, Sandra De las Lajas Torres Paz. The request envisages the compulsion of copies to carry out the respective disciplinary and criminal investigations of politicians for possible fraud of the electoral system. It should be noted that this process is active. Even yesterday (March 29) a hearing was held on this case, but Rodríguez did not attend because he was in the presidential debate organized by the Externado University. Despite this, the legal representative of the Colombia Justa Libres party responded to the CNE and it is now this entity that must evaluate the validity of this candidacy. While the situation is being defined, Rodríguez and De Las Lajas continue to have their space on the electoral card.In the first row of the format are: first place is Rodolfo Hernández, from the League of Anti-Corruption Governors, with his vice-presidential formula, Marlene Castillo. In second place is Colombia Justa y Libres with presidential candidate John Milton Rodriguez and his formula Sandra de las Lajas Torres. In third place was the candidate for Team Presidency for Colombia, Federico Gutiérrez, with his vice-presidential formula Rodrigo Lara. The second row of the card will be headed by the Centro Esperanza coalition with Sergio Fajardo and Luis Gilberto Murillo. Then follows Salvation Nacional with presidential candidate Enrique Gómez Martínez and his formula Carlos Cuartas and finally in that second row is the Historical Pact with his presidential candidate, Gustavo Petro and vice-presidential candidate Francia Márquez. In the third and final row of the card are the former governor of Antioquia, Luis Pérez and Ceferino Mosquera for Colombia Piensa en Grande; followed by Íngrid Betancourt and José Luis Esparza, by the Green Oxygen party; and last is the blank vote.In order to define this order, the authorities conducted a draw through ballots that were marked with the names of the candidates, according to the order of registration they made with the Registrar. These ballots were introduced into a balotera. On the other hand, in another similar ballot, the ballots were introduced with the positions on the electoral card, numbered from 1 to 8. Subsequently, the ballots of the candidates were taken out one by one along with those who had the position on the card and thus the photos of the applicants were placed in each of the available spaces.KEEP READING:Francia Márquez’s strong response to the racist comments of Marbelle and BolivarUsers can compare prices for telephony, internet and TV packages with this online tool
